NUS Dance Ensemble presents The Next Wave 2008

It's here again. I'm praying hard that those who've come before will come again to see yet another side of the choreographers that you've seen before; those who've not been to any of The Next Waves to please give it a shot at least once; and those with scheduling clashes to reconsider scheduling your stuff on 19 or 20 Sep to another day, please !! Varied styles, one common ideal of pushing the limits of dance. Hope to see you there. Here's the official word on it:

Be mesmerized by NUS Dance Ensemble in The Next Wave 2008 as it sets out to redefine the conventional concept of dance whilst still adhering to the discipline and spirit that encapsulates the very essence of NUS Dance Ensemble. Under the direction of their founder and resident choreographer, Zaini Mohd Tahir, the Ensemble has matured from its humble beginnings in 1992 to the established dance company it is today.

This year our external choreographers include Dan Kwoh; graduate from LASALLE-SIA College of the Arts and Marcus Foo; Jitterbugs scholar. Our internal choreographers include alumni members Shaun Lee and Zhou Suli, famed commercial choreographer Shahbirul Zaki Ahmad and Resident Choreographer Zaini Mohd Tahir.

Tickets at $19, $16 and $12*

Prices exclude $1 SISTIC Ticket Handling Fee.

Tickets are available at all SISTIC Outlets and online at www.sistic.com.sg. Tickets can also be booked through SISTIC hotline at 6348 5555.

For all ticket catergories: NUS Students are entitled to 15% discount. Group discount of at least 20 tickets are entitled to 20% discount.

NUS Dance Blast! - Shut Up And Dance: "Monsters of Hip Hop"

NUS Dance Blast presents Shut Up And Dance for the second year since 2006. Choreographers include Patrick Loo, resident instructor for Blast!, Joo Teng, Ahmad, Idil, Jiexiao, collabos between Rebecca and Lina, Calvin and Taufik, Caleb and Candy, and Blast alumni collabo between Justis, Yisi, Calvin and Glady. Guest performances by NTU MJ and a couple of individual showcases to watch out for.

Floor the Love (KSDP)

The next few months will be a very busy time for singapore dancers. Floor the love will be in November this year. Battle format competition in locking, popping, hip hop and bboy categories.

K.O. Night Finalists

It was an intense battle earlier today at K.O. Night.
Thanks to the guest judges, Ann Tan, B-Boy Mahmud, and SGD's very own Prince Jack for gracing the event.

We're done with the semi-finals and the victors have emerged, thus, the lineup for the finals will be:

Hip Hop: Rated PG vs. Red Line
Popping: Freqance vs. Sunset Alleycats
Breaking: Floor Tech vs. Intertia Crew
Locking: Faith Society Crew vs. Fonkay Styles

remember, the finals will be held on 5th September, at Singapore Post Center.
